Primary Applications
Because it is a standard metric hardware size, VAG uses this sealing washer across a wide variety of Audi, VW, and Porsche models in several fluid-critical systems. The most common deployment locations include:
Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) Lines: Frequently used to seal transmission lines, plugs, or connector tubes.
Vacuum and Oil Pumps: Often used as a washer for vacuum pump oil feed/supply lines (such as on the 4.0T V8 and 4.2L engines).
Power Steering Systems: Used to seal the pressure sensor or fluid lines on the power steering pump.
Sensors: Frequently acts as the crush washer for oil pressure switches and engine coolant bleeder screws.
Note: This is a one-time-use crush washer. It cannot be reliably reinstalled once torqued down, as it loses its sealing properties after deformation. Always replace it whenever the associated plug, line, or sensor is loosened.
